Meet Alan and Heather Dickson, the husband and wife team that make up Alan Dickson Photography.

Alan shot his first wedding in 1980 as a favour for a friend, and has been working as a photographer ever since, making it his profession in 1988. Initially self-taught, he is consistently learning and refining his craft through seminars and conventions and is intentionally raising the standard for excellence and professionalism in Thunder Bay. He is a "people person" and specializes in capturing emotion and life in his work. An extravert by nature, he enjoys working with people and combines his artistic side with an eye for detail and a flare for style.

Heather is also a Thunder Bay native, a zoologist by profession and a graphic artist by nature, mom of 3 and partner in the business. She runs the office, making all appointments and arranging Alan's busy schedule. With her artist's background (including a brief stint as a comic book illustrator for DC Comics in New York!), she is the designer for all albums and co-ordinator for all portrait sessions, as well as handling much of the retouching work and framing.

The combination of these two artists creates a dynamic blend of energy and style, professionalism and spirit. Married for 17 years and working together for most of it, their enthusiasm for their work has only increased, as they seek to create art for their clients in a photographic experience that will last a lifetime.
