Brad&Bethany's Big Adventure!

This blog is a little longer than normal, as it's packed with family goodness! (Or should I say madness?) We've known Bethany's family for a very long time and so when we got the call saying that Brad had finally popped the question, we knew this would be one special wedding! Both Brad and Bethany are smart, witty and adventurous with a strong sense of family. Bethany is the youngest of five (and the best behaved, right Bethany?), a real adventure-seeker, and family is very important to her, so much so that she and Brad asked our daughter Brynn to be second camera at the wedding, and our son Graeme to do video! Talk about a real family affair! Bethany's house is directly across the street from Grace Church, and with character homes like this one, I could fill an entire blog with shots from the house! Take a look at some of these amazing images:

The church itself is lovely, with that stunning chandelier (only one other like it in the world, I'm told!) but the real star of this part of the day is the couple themselves - just look at how they are beaming at each other! And since Brad is every bit the adventurer that Bethany is, they came down the aisle as husband and wife to the theme from Indiana Jones!

Then, off to the old family farm where Bethany's mom grew up. Brad loves that place and he could already see the shots in his head. It didn't take much to convince Alan, since he's all about finding spots that have meaning for the couple, and this place was no exception. The old barn, the milk shed, the house and all the variety of out-buildings provided the perfect backdrop for some adventure of their own. You can just see their personalities shining out of each and every shot! With Brynn as second camera, she was able to capture moments behind the scenes as Alan worked his magic elsewhere. She's got a great eye and I dare you to tell Brynn's shots from Alan's! Talent just seems to run in the family...sigh...=)

And of course, the perfect accompaniment to any adventure wedding - the Mustang...

Bethany had wanted some shots off the property, just for something a little different, and together they picked the train trestle on the way out to the Nor'Wester. They didn't have much time, but boy did they make it count! I love the shots where they are snatching a kiss as the train barrels toward them! How romantic! How Indiana Jones!

And finally, the reception at the Nor'Wester. It was a lovely affair, and since Bethany's mom Terri is a hair dresser, they had time for a quick up-do before the party started. Photomonkey was there of course, and people couldn't wait to get in the booth for a little mayhem and magic! As the sun started to set over the mountain, Bethany - ever the adventure-gal, suggested heading outside for some 'into the sunset' shots, and boy, we got a few stunners then!

Brad and Bethany, this is the beginning of your biggest adventure yet! May the sun never set on your love and may your friendship only grow deeper and wider and higher and stronger as time goes by. You are a great couple and our family is blessed to know you both! I"ve included our son Graeme's version of a 'Same-Day Edit' - snippets of the wedding pulled together for a teaser of what is to come. For his first wedding project, I think he's done a splendid job!
