Let the Joy be Uncontained!! That seemed to the theme of the 2011 Special Olympics Closing Ceremonies, as the weekend-long party drew to a close. After bright skies and bitter temperatures, the Athletes deserved a send-off in true Thunder Bay style. Sports Net's Evanka Osmak was Master of Ceremonies, and Thunder Bay Police Chief Bob Herman was on hand for the passing of the torch, along with Special Olympics CEO Glenn MacDonnell and local athlete Thomas Boyes. The games will be held next in Sudbury, and Police Chief Frank Elsner accepted the torch on behalf of his fine city. And while the athletes moved on from the Community Auditorium to a wind up Victory Dance at Fort William Historical Park, that didn't stop the dancing from happening right here in the Auditorium! The Celebration got started early with a musical salute from local Blues/Rock group 'Doobsie's Band' and the 'random acts of spontaneous dancing' just started popping up all over the Auditorium. Take a look at these great shots:

I wasn't there for the event, but by the looks of the photos it seems to have been a great success, way to go Thunder Bay
