And we're back with the Ontario Special Olympics Figure Skating Event! After the speed and intensity of the speed skating on Friday, Alan was happy to be a part of the grace and beauty of the Figure Skating. Figure skating is just the kind of sport that everyone loves to watch - you find yourself completely immersed in the music and the performance, you hold your breath when the skaters take off, you cheer with them when they nail the jump, and this event was no different. The caliber of the performances was amazing - just take a look at the extension and expressions in these shots. All levels of skaters were present, from beginners (waaaay better than me!) to professional quality. And while there is almost always a look of intense concentration on their faces during the skate, you can tell from the finishing smiles that each and every skater turned in a performance to be proud of. Congratulations to all skaters who participated in this wonderful event, and thanks again to all the volunteers who made it possible. Shout out to Gino and the gang at Carlo's Hair Design for volunteering their time and skills to do the hair of the lovely ladies. Once again, Thunder Bay's giant heart was shining through!
