When you combine a perfect day, a Japanese Zen garden, a cool-as-a-cucumber groom and a bride with the most beautiful brown eyes on the planet, you have a combination for romance and magical portraiture that can rival anything out of a bigger city. Both Chris and Jen wanted a rich, elegant yet classical mood for their wedding, and the photos truly reflect this easy-going style. What caught my eye was the candid photography during the course of the day- it tells a story, and sets a mood, starting off with Jen's house and traveling all the way to the church.







              







After the church, the gang headed off to Pat Kelly's and his amazing Japanese garden. The Kellys are friends of the family, and they were overjoyed to open up this award-winning garden (rated #5 in all of Canada!) for Jen and Chris to make some photographic magic. These images to me just speak peace, calm, serenity and hint of mystery.









              





Then, off to PACI, a fave of Chris' for it's cool architecture and old-world class. The girls were in fine form, carrying on the Japanese theme with their fans, and again, Jen - what gorgeous eyes this girl has! You can see the mischief peaking out!







And finally, the Italian Hall. I had to ask Alan over and over again where this was, because it was just so stunning! The team at Casabella did the decorating, along with the Flower Shed's flowers, and I have rarely seen a combination so beautiful! There cake was the most unique one we've seen all year, adding a whimsical flair to the elegant surroundings - good job Stacey (from a Piece of Cake!) And the party was one to remember, with the dancing going on well into the night. To get the bride and groom to kiss, the 'requester' had to maneuver an Oreo cookie from their forehead to their mouth!! Again, another original idea to get people into the fun spirit!







   



Chris and Jen, congratulations on creating a unique, casual, elegant, Zen-flavoured celebration that will be talked about by friends and family for a very long time to come. And thanks for including us in the mix - we hope the images we've captured will be treasured for the rest of your lives!
