Julie&Evan-Canadian Gothic!

Everyone knows that famous painting - American Gothic by Grant Wood. It's the farmer and his wife and the pitchfork, and is as much a part of Americana as baseball and apple pie. Well, Julie and Evan wanted to create their own version, a 'Canadian Gothic' as it were, and they chose perfect venues in Thunder Bay to create such a look! Their wedding was simply delightful, the ceremony taking place in the little church Pioneer Village and even in the dead of winter this place is sooo cool! Evan is a local farmer, Julie a school teacher, and once they tied the knot, they had a ball in the little schoolhouse and the train station. Julie had a lovely dress - very sweet and simple, and it had a very unique feature that I think is the best thing ever - pockets!!!!

Then, off to the farm to visit some of the guests that simply couldn't make it - the cows! The colours at this place are marvelous, with the red door and grey stone just giving it that old rural cenury gothic feel! Add some pitchforks and now we're making hay! Evan's personality comes through in every shot - I love his expressions! I think he had as much fun as Julie during the shooting, atlhough you'd never get him to admit it!

Reception in the Canoe du Nord at Fort William Historical Park and you just get a warm feeling from the candles and the fireplace. The ice candles were made by Julie's dad and created a wonderful entrance into the Canoe du Nord! The theme was consistent all day long (props to both Julie and Evan!) and there was a natural mix of uniqueness and tradition.

Evan and Julie, your wedding was a Canadian Gothic classic! Thanks for inviting us to share it with you!
