Karen&Chris-Hollywood Glam

Every wedding has its own distinctive style, some sassy, some breezy, and some have a classy elegance that is simply timeless. Karen and Chris's wedding falls into that last category, and from first thing in the morning to the very end of the day, the beauty and sophistication just kept on building. Karen & Chris' favourite spot is Lot 66, one of Thunder Bay's finest restaurant/wine bars (link) so of course they had to include a brief stop there after the park. But before we get to the wine, you need to see some of these images from Karen's home. To me, she has an 'Golden Hollywood' face, reminiscient of Judy Garland or Jacqueline Kennedy, and the dress and veil also evoke a nostalgic glam. I love all the details shots, from Karen's hand nervously tapping her hip to Kristi intent on doing up the dress. And the little flower girl, Ava, steals the show in every shot!

Next, we meet Chris, cool stylin' Chris with the Ray Liotta eyes (See! Hollywood glam again) and the ceremony at St. Anthony's. There are some wonderful images that, to me, evoked that nostalgic style, just begging to be flipped to black and white. After the church, they came to the studio for the family shots, and brought the vintage Mustang! (Our son Graeme loves it when we have these amazing cars in our yard!)Then off to Lot 66 for a quick glass of wine and some fond memories. Raise your glass as a toast to a classy couple!

Videographer Gino of Zoom HD (click) had some great ideas for a spot near PACI and it is a gem of a location. Up near the hill, down some steep windy steps, over the wall and voila - a timeless little grotto perfect for some fairytale portraits! Both Karen and Chris know how to work the camera, and the mood that is inspired is one of casual elegance. There were some very different angles of familiar landmarks, and this wedding just gave everything an unique spin. Thunder Bay has never looked so good!

Then the DaVinci again, and a party worthy of a Hollywood bash! The lights, the dancing, the miles and miles and miles of multi-coloured streamers...

Karen and Chris, your wedding was a classy, sophisticated affair - a real tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood. Thank you for including us in your day and have fun at Disney when you go next!!!
