A New Year's wedding is a special event, not only marking the union of a man and woman in love, but celebrating that union with the turning out of the past and a ringing in of the new! For Kristen and Wade, they wanted everyone to remember this date as the ultimate celebration of love, of life and of new beginnings. The day began and ended at the Valhalla Inn, where the girls got ready in Nordic luxury. Kristen has a lovely, happy personality - reminding me very much of Amy Adams (Enchanted, Julie & Julia, etc) and daughter Avery was a star as flower girl. Kristen's dress was stunning, with a gorgeous long sweeping veil (this year was the year of the veil!) and gorgeous pewter shoes that set off the bling in everything! Wade and the guys were very James Bond in their black ties and boy, were these guys game for anything!
Because of the lateness of the ceremony, they opted for the studio, but it had just snowed two days before and Thunder Bay looked like a winter wonderland. We were able to make a quick stop outdoors for some wedding party shots, and snuck in a few of the Bride and Groom just as the snow started falling anew. It conspired to make an already wonderful day just a little bit magical.
But of course, for a wedding like this, the focus was all on the party! The WP danced in to Bruno Mars' "I Think I Wanna Marry You" and like the lyrics say, it was a beautiful night! Silk and Cedar outdid themselves on the New Year's sparkle and naturally, the Photomonkey was on hand to take guests well into the night. On the stroke of midnight, the party started up again while outside, the snow fell softly. What a magical wedding!
Kristen, Wade and Avery, you are a very lucky family. All the stars were smiling as you exchanged your vows and your friends and family wish you the best this new year can bring, for every year to follow!
