When I'm blogging a wedding or an engagement, one thing I try to do is to get a feel for the couple - who they are in their personality and spirit. With Megan and Jon, it was so easy! We shot them last fall for their engagement session, and their joy was inescapable! They are a young, easy-going couple who are so well matched, they just seem to channel each others emotions back and forth between them and it was a treat to try to capture just some of their personality through the lens. Sweet, happy, lovely, witty, charming, positive - all words I would use to describe them both, and their wedding was a joy for everyone involved. From the relaxing morning at the house (mom Mona brought a hair stylist and aesthetician to the house for a stress-free morning) to the steps of St. Paul's Anglican, the feeling is soft, breezy and oh-so happy...

St. Paul's is a great church to shoot in, with it's stained glass, old wood and high ceiling. Alan shot his first wedding in this church in 1980 (before Megan was even born!) and each time, it's a joy and brought back wonderful memories. Each wedding is an original piece of art, just like each bride and groom and again, with this couple, the smiles are uncontained. Even during the ceremony, Megan and Jon are beaming (and laughing...and laughing...) and I had to limit the shots for the blog, because I could have filled an entire blog with shots from the church!

Centennial Park is a fave for Megan and Jon, so off they went with the wedding party for some 'apres ceremony' adventure! Both Megan and Jon are naturals in front of the camera, very photogenic and comfortable with each other. With Megan's sweet smile and Jon's sense of humour, this couple will be laughing for the rest of their lives! The wedding party was similar - good-natured and lively, and the only stress was to make way for the on-coming train!

The Old Fort has rarely looked better, and was the perfect venue for their reception, keeping the light, happy and natural theme going well into the evening. I loved the expressions on the faces in these shots, especially the one where Megan is dancing with her dad, Pat. So sweet with Mona looking on in the background. And Photomonkey was on hand for the enjoyment of the guests.
