Mike&Melissa- Old World Romance

When we did Mike and Melissa's engagement last year, we had so much fun with them that we just knew that their wedding would be stellar! Both of them are naturals in front of the camera - their love for each other shines in every photo. From fun and funky to intimate and tender, their emotions are evident to everyone who meets them and the camera just loves that. They met at Hammarskjold High School and have been sweethearts ever since. (Check out the blog of their engagement session HERE) But little did we know that the funky, edgy side that we met on the engagement shoot was hiding a deep "Old World" romantic side that bloomed on the day of their wedding.  Alan started the day at Mike's house, where the guys had a blast pulling their Donald Trump impersonations under the curved balcony. Then off to Melissa's house, where she just glowed in the natural window light. Her dress was stunning, with just the right amount of bling on the bodice, and her veil -- Wow! I am soooo loving the veils this year! It was like something out of a Tuscan romance, and Alan was in his element capturing the sheer art of timeless, elegant portraiture. She is such a beautiful young woman, with those gorgeous eyes and a smile that lights up the room!

The ceremony was at St. Anthony's and again, the love this couple has for each other just shows in every shot. Then, off to Mike's house again, where the house was shown off to its best, and the grounds were stunning and park-like! (Props to Mike's parents - the place was perfect!) After photos at the house, Melissa and Mike chose PACI with it's grand history and architecture. (It's still one of the most stunning venues in Thunder Bay for any kind of photography.) The combination of old world grandeur and modern features just transports the couple away from hometown Thunder Bay and into a completely different world. Take a look at some of these images:

And finally the reception - again with a modern twist, the colours were black, pink and silver. The silver was stunning and original, and added that extra 'sparkle' that just set this reception apart. The party was a blast and some of the dance shots are soooo much fun!
