Christmas is the time for miracles, isn't it? Little Heidi was expected around the middle of December, just in time to be a welcomed present under the tree. But Heidi had other plans, and  she showed up on the scene three weeks early. Born November 18, she weighed in at a tiny 4 lbs, 12 oz. She spent a week in the hospital, under the watchful eyes of her parents and the care of the fabulous nurses at the TBDRHSC. She had begun losing weight, and they needed to keep her until she was back up to her birth weight. But she's a feisty little thing, and she was determined not to spend her first Christmas in the hospital, so within a week, she was back home with mom and dad, ready for the festivities in style! Her mom wanted to chronicle this very special time in Heidi's life, so she brought her in for her first 'session', along with some ornaments and loads of ideas! Alan filled in the rest and what we have here is a special moment in the life of a very special little girl. I love the blend of tender shots with holiday cheer, the texture of a newborn's skin in her father's hands, and the fuzzy trim of a Santa hat against the soft down of her baby hair. And the random ornaments can't help but bring a smile to your face. Take a look at some of these images:
