This weekend was the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Wedding Wishes Formal Fair - an event that we look forward to all year. It was a great show, with almost 50 of Thunder Bay's wedding specialists all in one room, and boy was it packed. The crowd this year was excited and exciting, with prospective brides and their moms, bridesmaids, even a few future grooms came along for the show. It was alot of fun, and the energy in the room was non-stop. You can almost see the excitement in the shots Alan took:

We've been gearing up for the past few weeks - creating new sample books and printing new images for the wall and booth. It allows us to stop and evaluate what we've done this past year for weddings, choosing only the highlights for both the board and books. But this year, we had a real problem - we could have held a show with almost any ONE of our weddings. There were simply too many fantastic images and too many fantastic couples, from Kristi and Toby to Sarah and Eli, from Chelsea and Mike to Kendra and Jason, from Susan and Chris to Amanda and Derek, the list just keeps on going. We always have one or two new items to debut at the Wedding Wishes show and this year is no different. Last year we debuted the Bridal Registry which was a hit, and a few brides almost had their entire weddings paid off by friends and family! This year, we have a gorgeous new Engagement Book and it's partner, the Wedding Signature Guest Book. Our engagement sessions this year were so much fun and these new books are simply stunning. Take a look at some of the sample pages:

We are also excited about some of the new leather covers that are available for the albums - the new Manhattan was a hit, with Dark Mocha front and Alligator-skin spine as was the new Monterey with original Gothic front and back panels! This is where Alan's and my talents align - his are the images, mine is the design, and designing these books with our couples in mind delights the artist in me. It's a skill to know when to use an overlay and when less is more, when to use a funky edge or border, when to leave things well enough alone. I love playing with my Photoshop, but what I love even more is the emotion that shines in the eyes of a groom when he looks at his bride, or the laughter of a man and a woman in love, or the big round eyes of a little girl as she watches her cousin come down the aisle.

A big thanks to the Chamber of Commerce for putting on such a great show, and to all the brides and friends who took time on a sunny Sunday to pop in and say hi. It was a great day, promising a bright future for weddings in Thunder Bay in 2011 and 2012!
