Windows to the Soul

We have been crazy busy shooting families and children this past month as we head into the Christmas season, and for us, one of those great Christmas traditions is Amber and Autumn! We have been shooting these two sisters ever since Autumn was one year old, and it's been a joy to watch them grow into lovely young ladies. Right from the very first session so many years ago, these girls just shone with life and love, and they have eyes that simply take your breath away, large, luminous and lovely. It's said that 'eyes are the window to the soul,' and it's certainly true for Amber and Autumn! This year, their mom, Jodi, decided to bring all the cousins in for a family shoot as a gift for her mother (their grandmother - so hush! Keep it a secret, all you folks out there!!) This is one photogenic batch of kids, let me tell you, and it was a delight to meet cousins Jordan, Elisha and little Tucker for the first time. They were all so relaxed and easy-going that the session just flew by, and then Jodi asked if we could do some shots of Amber and Autumn on their own. Jodi is super creative and loves bringing her girls here for their portraits. She enjoys partnering with Alan in capturing the stages of her daughters' lives, and it's the pairing of creative people that cause magic to happen. She had brought in a Christmas bauble (and her own boundless imagination), and the girls shone like stars once again. I decided to include some of the older shots as a tribute to a vivacious mother and her beautiful daughters - you can see them grow and change, but one thing that has never changed is the perfect serenity and grace in their eyes.
Our deepest thanks go out to Jodi, Amber, Autumn, Jordan, Elisha and Tucker for allowing us the honour of photographing them all this year. It is a little glimpse into a family that shines as much as the stars in the sky. Have a wonderful holiday season, and we can't wait to see what next year brings!

Hi Heather and Alan.... just wanted to tell you how much we enjoy seeing your professional pictures every year.... in fact it is the one thing I watch for in the mail at Christmas Time!! Amber and Autumn are my beautiful nieces who we absolutely adore. You do an amazing job capturing their beauty and personalities in your shots! Jodi cannot say enough about how much she enjoys these photo shoots at your studio. We live so far away but are planning on visiting the clan in TBay sometime in the the new year. When we do, I would absolutely love to book a photo session with you with our kids and Amber and Autumn. Thank you for choosing this amazing family to represent your business and hopefully we will meet you in the future :o)

Thank you to the dynamic, incredible team of Alan and Heather for truly capturing moments in my children's lives that I cherish and love. Alan is an intuitive mastermind behind the camera lens and Heather is a photofinishing genius - the pair are second to none!!
This tribute to my girls moved me to tears and I sincerely hope that the two of you will be taking photos long into the next decades as I hope to continue to capture the lives of my girls, their weddings, and eventually, my grandchildren:)
ps... Can't wait 'til next summer as I already have an idea for a photo shoot on location, at Sleeping Giant Prov. Park :)
